Do you stock new books, comics, records or clothes?

No. All our goods are 2nd hand. We have no distribution partners, all our stock is sold into us over the counter by customers.

Can anyone sell to you? How does the Exchange System work?

Bring your goods into one of our shops and we will buy them from you. MGE shops have a Nothing Legal Refused policy which is good news for anyone on a spring cleaning bender!

Our buyer will make you an offer based on the resale value of the items. You will receive an offer in cash or you can take double that amount in exchange vouchers which you can use in any of the MGE shops.

Do I just come in with my stuff? What do I need to provide to sell goods into your shops?

You must provide identification to sell goods into us. This must contain a valid ID with photo likeness (on a passport or drivers license) and some proof of address. You must have these things with you or we cannot buy your goods. Neither can we hold your goods until you obtain these documents.

Will you collect my goods from my house?

No. In very few circumstances we have arranged collections of, especially large record or book collections that contain particularly rare items.

If I send you pictures or a list of my goods to sell, will you give me an offer?

Essentially, NO. Due to a number of factors, (verification process, examining the condition etc.) we do not offer valuations unless we see the items physically in the shops.

If I see something in the shops can I buy it here on the website?

What we sell online is not the same stock you will see on display in the shops.

What happened to the Music & Video Exchange in Soho? Is it gone for good?

Due to development works in the area, the Berwick Street Record shop closed its doors in 2015.

Notting Hill Bookshop…? Is that the one from the film? If I come to your shop, will I meet Hugh Grant?
